I read this book cover to cover, perusing the ingredient list for each recipe. There are a lot of recipes in the book, some you might not have heard of as they do get into different ethnic cultures. The thing that made me give this just 2 starss was the author's suggestions in the front of the book. I chose this book thinking that recipes catered to vegtarians would be more healthful than conventional ones but in the very beginning it's suggested to add artifical food colors to off-colored or dull looking soups or add in sugar. There were other suggestions that seemed really wrong to me.

Not well-proofed (e.g. Indian dahl [sic] soup recipe never mentions what to do with the coconut milk).

I never knew there were so many kinds of soup. I tried two vegan recipes from the book. They were both disappointing. I took the book back before I tried more.

A lot of the recipes were very similar.
