I don't read very many short stories or novellas, but something about the description of this book made me want to give it a chance.Jamie heads to the same college where her brother is the captain of the basketball team. Jamie can't figure out why her brothers is making sure not to be seen with Jamie around school. She finally confronts him and finds out that he was trying to shelter her from his team mates, who all have well deserved reputations as "players". One particular player sticks out to Jamie, Chase. Jamie can't figure out why he is constantly avoiding her, and trying hard to keep his distance. Soon Jamie discovers that all this time he has been keeping his distance to try to save her from him. One night he walks her home and decides to just go with his feelings. They soon end up in whirlwind relationship. Chase ends up being drafted into the NBA, and just as quickly him and Jamie become the subject of intense media attention.Jamie's long legs and gorgeous face soon end up attracting the attention of a modeling agency and she ends up with her own career. While away on a modeling job Jamie starts to feel insecure about Chase's faithfulness. When she confronts him, he refuses to answer her questions. She decides to break it off to save herself from further pain. She goes about her life and is soon persued by a famous rockstar who is totally enamoured of her. She still feels deep love for Chase, but also feels treasured and wanted by Sean the rockstar.Through the journey we see Jamie evolve into a confident independant woman. She learns what she wants in life, and decides to set a plan and achieve her dreams. The beginning of the story felt kind of rushed, but once you get into the meat of the story you get swept away.I really enjoyed this story and found myself going back and reading some of my favorite parts over again. I don't know if there will be a sequel, but I'd love to read more about Jamie and Chase, or even a story about Jamie's brother would be good. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who is looking for a great read.

This book is an absolutely great read. I really enjoyed it. It’s a story of a growing love, not a love at first sight story. The characters were strong but not so strong that you couldn’t relate, as they also had very real vulnerabilities and fears that held them back. Aside from the main girl character, the author did a great job of not making everyone in the book beautiful. This includes the main male character, who although had a great body was not simply gorgeous. I absolutely loved that. It made the story more real for me. The lessons learned throughout were also tangible things, I as the reader could grab hold of and understand. Not so far reaching as to be unreal. This author does a good job of pulling you along with the story as the characters make choices both good and bad. I could not read it fast enough. It was fun and easy to read and I really did like it.

This was a cute story about Chase, a college basketball player and Jamie a volleyball player who meet through her brother. They fall in love, he gets drafted by NBA and she becomes a model. They break up because of a misunderstanding and three days later Jamie is dating a Rick star she met at some party. She starts to feel something for the Irish rock star while she's still in love with her exboyfriend. She drops out of college to pursue her career of modeling. Her career takes of once she's seen with the Irish rock star. It's a cute story which I thought was a young adult book. It's not young adult at all. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under sixteen. It's a fast pace story. A quick read. The only problem with this story is that it's in need for serious editing. There are many misspelled or missing words. But I would say give it a try if your looking for a quick, light read.

I didn’t actually buy this book, but I read it. Last week I noticed my girlfriend not being able to put down her kindle and I asked why. Well, the answer was this book. So out of curiosity, when she was at work I picked up her kindle and started to read this. When I first started reading this, I had no idea what to expect because I was coming in completely blind. But before I knew it, a few hours passed and I was half way done with it.I actually ended up finishing it in two days. The story was entertaining, even for me. I could relate to the main character, Luke who didn’t want his sister around his notorious friends. (Been there and had to deal with a similar situation with my sisters.)Anyways, surprisingly entertaining, even for a guy.

Love, Fame and Other Lessons is a cute little book that I read this week. This book is fun and does a good job or portraying young love and the challenges that go along with it. Parts of it really kind of reminded me of a movie that I once watched called Love and Basketball. The characters were great and the author did a good job of detailing their blooming relationship. I was a little apprehensive about reading this because it showed up in the Adult section of Smashwords but I wasn't nearly as graphic as thought it would be. This would be a great book to read this weekend.

I would give the story 5 stars, but the editing needed help. It was unbelievable at times, but for some reason it grabbed me. Loved the heroine.

Fame, Love and other Lessons is the story of a simple girl whose life changes from night to morning when her boyfriend is picked to play in the NBA and she is discovered as a model. Immerse in a world of luxury, parties, paparazzies and appearances, Jamie is trying to become and adult woman and dealing with love. The love story moves way to fast, it's believable at some points but there's so much happening between lines and paragraph. There is a lot that is not being told and it gives you a sense that something is missing. Despite being sweet and fun, Jamie is not a very likeable character, at least for me. She has this tendency to do the first thing that comes to her mind but she's not ready to deal with the consequences of her actions. She seems so bold but is very volatile. Chase is this big guy, hot and with a bad reputation. But when Jamie comes into picture he decides to change. Let's be honest, he didn't resist much; he goes after her and with his mind set about what he wants. He is very sweet, honest, and lovely but is also a man so he has a hard time leaving his pride aside. The world of fame is well portrayed, it's easy to imagine the craziness they live in, with everyone talking about what they do and say. Is easy to feel the doubt and insecurity she has because all the women throwing themselves to her boyfriend and saying he is cheating on her. The second guy, Sean, is supposed to be this hot, sexy, Irish, band member, but he is a terrible person. He is so self-confident that is annoying. However, he is a good for the story and adds the conflict it needs. Overall, this book is a nice love story with a lot of hot scenes (well written and entertaining) fast to read and with simple language. *** I received an ecopy from the author in exchange for an honest review. ***

This one breaks the generalizations of your regular "players" and "models" and makes two very sweet and very real characters join the ranks of the wolves.I liked it - the whole "girl next door" appeal of the main character and internally cringed with the girl as she stood on the proverbial fork in the road and nearly made mistakes that would have changed the book drastically :)The plot is simple but ups and downs seem very real. It was also a fairly quick read and I definitely enjoyed it.However after reading some of the other reviews -I have no idea why this would be acceptable for a younger reader. It has very adult content. Lovely book however - and as always I am a fan of happy endings. My only gripe is that it ended abruptly... sort of. Well it is in my humblest of opinions.

Jamie was your typical innocent, beautiful, and smart college freshman. She went to visit her older brother Luke when she met Chase. Chase was a star basketball player who fell in love with Jamie. He gets drafted and she gets discovered in the modeling world as a result. I LOVED this book. I think it shows you that even good, level headed young adults can enter the world of glitz and glamour and still make mistakes. The celebrity world took two young and impressionable people in love and nearly tore them apart. I can't say too much without spoilers but trust me this book is definitely worth the read!

I was a little hesitant with this book. I soon realized after the first few chapters that I rather enjoyed this book. It had a couple twists bad turns in it which kept me turning the pages. My only complaint is that I wished there was a bit more ending to the story. I felt like the "resolution" between Chase & Jamie's story was a bit rushed in the end and felt like I was left hanging a bit. Otherwise I did like the book and look forward to other books by this author.

Mildly erotic romance involving celebrities. I enjoyed the book and the characters but removed a star from the rating due to the abrupt ending.
