This was a rather interesting read for me. First off, it’s a “secret baby” book. As a man and a father, I abhor that concept. Unless daddy is a serial killer, abuser or rapist, there is no excuse to hide the child from its father. Even if daddy cheated on mommy. Punish daddy by breaking up with him. But don’t steal his child. Or deny your kid a father. So for most of this book, I really, REALLY detested Grace. I mean, I hated her. And Jamie didn’t even cheat on her! He broke up with her. And it wasn’t even a full break-up – she just totally lost it and kind of screwed herself over. Then she finds out she’s pregnant and makes herself disappear from the face of the earth, forbidding anyone from telling Jamie her whereabouts – or about Jake his son. And then she spends almost the entire book rationalizing why she shouldn’t tell Jamie the truth. And she runs. Multiple times. I spoil nothing – you can get this from the blurb and in the first 20 pages of the book. So, because she feels hurt, not only does she steal her ex’s son from him, she denies her child a father. And that is my idea of a bad mother.Of course if you’ve read a “secret baby” book before, you know exactly how it will turn out – you’d have to summer on Mars and winter on Venus not to know. If I ever come across a secret baby book that end differently I’ll eat my Kindle. So I hated Grace, and I then proceeded to inhale this book like it was coke. Just because you hate an MC doesn’t mean the book isn’t awesome and you must devour it, forsaking all other duties in life, like eating and sleeping. I think it took me 4 hours. And now I want more. So the lesson of the day is: the MC can be a total idiot and you can still love the book I’ll bet it was planned that way. And in the end, Grace kind of sort of redeems herself (because she realizes what a total jerk she’s been), and I only mildly despise her. Jamie is really cool, Jake is awesome, Caroline was…you’ll see, and I even liked Charlie, though I do have a feeling I wasn’t supposed to. But this author has me hooked. Nice impressive debut. Good job.I also totally support Ms. White because she has the same name as my wife (before she married me, that is).:)

The cover was really pretty, but after the first few pages everything went downhill 1. The fact that she hid the mans child simply because he broke up with her2. He bulldozed his way back into her life and did some things that made me positively angry That said this was the worst female protagonist I have ever read about she just runs away from everything this book claims to have a HEA but there probably wont be as her current coping mechanism of running away from problems does not make a successful marriage.

This book was really great book I understood why Grace did what she did to Jamie but it was so rushed and unrealistic at the end that it killed the rest of the book for me. I dont think Jamie would have just taken back Grace after she kept his kid away from him for 5 years so quickly. It was just like woosh super fast and then it was over. Up until that I point I loved it. It was a free amazon read so I cant be too dissappointed.

I coldn't even finish this book before throwing it against the wall and wanting to scream in frustration at how stupid Grace was being. If it was just her this would of been an ok book but she drags her child around as she runs from her problems. I grew up with a mom that ran from her problems and it was horrible so this book not only was done in bad taste but it makes Grace seem like a damn teenager instead of a grown adult. Seriously he dumps you, you find out your prego, you leave get a life, a job and raise your kid. time and time again once he is back in your life you let your self indulge till you finally have sex again then run AGAIN only to have sex 1 minute after he finds you, either she is a VERY loose woman or a complete nympho which by the build up shes not a nympho so that leaves she's a slut but luckly only with one guy who drops her like yday news and takes 5 years to find her (which if he tried hard enough he would of found her, she didn't even change her name and worked at the same company for years plus when she was at the hospital (giving birth) her name would of hit the servers if he was smart enough to pay enough to actually find someone) . Not only is it completely lame that she fell back in love with a guy who found out to late that he had his priorities wrong plus she dragged her child around time and time again only to be caught in the end. I HATE THIS BOOK so if the author wanted to evoke feelings, disgust, anger and complete disregard for this authors future works. It gives a bad name to all those single mothers who doesn't put there child behind fairytale love and lust. So I give this book a 1 star when it deserves less then that.

Omg so I wasn't sure about reading this book but man once I started I couldn't put it down. Amazing loved the whole storyline even though I did hate that she was keeping this secret from Jamie so happy that they get their HEA!!!

Yet another stupid "keep the kid secret" story. The mother was such a ditz. No real meat to this one. Don't waste your time.

This story had potential but just fell short. The heroine has legitimate reasons for being upset and not trusting the guy- however I hate her character. She is wishy washy and makes the most irrational decisions. She sets a horrible example for her child as she manipulates those around her and runs from her problems. She say she is thinking about her child but not a single action proves this. I hate when authors do that. They have their characters say things but then don't back them up with actions in the plot- saying is not enough. It doesn't make me believe what they are saying. The reasons for the break up were ridiculous. How could he pine away for for 5 years and just expect everything to be all peachy when he sees her again. And the resolution- what a crock of crap. A few pages to make up for 5 years of keeping his kid away... again not believable. The hero wasn't all that great either- he looked stupid because the decisions he made were stupid.

*3.5 Stars*This book could easily be a 4 star read except I had to dock off half a star for the heroine. She was just too selfish and annoyingly irrational with her behavior, cowardness and choices. There are not many heroines that I could think of that I would want to slap, but this heroine made me want to slap her hard (multiple times) in some parts of the story. For example, she gets mad because the hero does not care about their son. Uh, hello? She never even told him that he even had a son so he doesn't even know that his son exists. She just kept it a secret all those years and was even planning to keep it a secret had the hero not seen his son *eye roll* Bad move.Despite the unlikeable heroine, I liked the hero and the author's writing style. Good pacing and flow. Would read more from this author, but I'm crossing my fingers that this kind of heroine does not dominate her books.

A difficult book to give a review because there were parts I loved and parts I hated so I guess it falls somewhere in the middle.I adored Jamie and Jake, but I really didn't like Grace at all. For some reason I really enjoy the 'secret-baby' storyline and this was what made me select this book. I could see Grace's reason for not initially telling Jamie, even though I didn't think it was right. What I couldn't handle and it almost made me quit reading at the point was (view spoiler)[ when Jamie showed up at her apartment and saw Jake and she passed Jake off as her sister's son saying she was his Aunt. I also didn't like that she once again ran away. She's a mother who needed to be more responsible and think of her son more than herself.(hide spoiler)].If you like the secret baby theme then give this one a try.

Okay, here's the breakdown and some spoilage:In the beginning, he's an asshole, what a scumbag move that was, and my heart broke for her. Then, she runs and takes a huge secret with her that, even though he's a total asshole, he has a right to know about. She was scared and ran, end of story. 5 years passGrace and her sister Caroline live together and continue to hide this from him when he finds her again. Jamie does everything to make her forgive him but she gives him the cold shoulder to hide the secret . The sister is actually encouraging this behavior. He's got a right to know!!!! I hated them both for their lies and deception. It was horrible, but he forgives all and it's a HEA. Incredible At first he sucks but then the tables turn and she sucks. Forgiveness yada yada yada HEA, THE END. It wasn't bad just frustrating :/

Grace and Jamie are both in college and have been dating for nearly three years, they're making plans for the future and both have jobs lined up in New York City for after graduation their future looks good but then just days before graduation Jamie breaks her heart. Realising he's made a mistake Jamie looks everywhere for Grace but she's disappeared, it takes him five years to find her but a lot can happen in five years.I find myself so often saying "it could have been better" and yes again it should have been, I felt Jamie's reasons were silly and surely he didn't really expect her to wait on the side lines after he'd thrown their relationship away, what on earth was he thinking, and Grace I'm sorry but what was going through her head most of the time.Despite everything I've said this was still a nice easy romantic read and it's free so well worth ago.

I downloaded Irresistible Lies as a free book from Amazon. I was enjoying this story up until the half-way mark. At fifty percent, Jamie kept overriding Grace's "no" with his persistent "yes" and it came close to date rape in my mind. He had no respect for her feelings, barreling forward to get his way. I didn't find this sexy-- if this was real life, I'd have called the cops and taken out a restraining order. I found Grace to be nice and strong, right before she folded to pressure like a Victorian miss. And what's with running away every time someone wanted to confront her and make her face her responsibilities? Sheesh. Sorry, the whole premise started well, but I had trouble finishing this one.

3.75/5 *s.I couldn't really identify with the main character, Grace, I wanted to yell at her more than sympathize with her about Jamie's reappearance into her life. The writing itself was really good, but it was the characters that pulled me to a 3.75*. I felt like the sister was almost too pushy and opinionated (and kinda bitchy). I'm writing this review after having read the book a couple weeks ago, so it did leave an impact on me, and I may go back and change my opinion later on; I'll probably read it again, but overall I felt that Grace was too hard on Jamie and should have told him what was going on instead of keeping him in the dark for years.

Grace and Jamie were in Love all through college they had jobs waiting for them. Right before graduation Jamie tells Grace its best for now go good their separate ways because he and his close friends ( their friends) are going to open a brewery and he needs to give his all. Grace heartbroken and not understanding why, leaves them fines out she is PG thinking it best not to tell him not hold him back. she leaves town not really knowing Jamie regretted what he did throwing away his one true love. Searching for Grace for 5yrs. how is Jamie deal when he finds her and discovers a child.

Very nicely written for a debut. I was hooked in the first few pages. Really liked Jamie but Grace drove me nuts. Always running away from her problems. Wanted to get more into Jamie's head. Not much smexy times but not that kind of book. If you want a quick read, love the secret baby trope, and want a solid HEA, this is the book for you. Like other reviewers, really wanted an epilogue but can't have everything! And a standalone!! Will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Ok, so this book had a good story, but it wasn't executed very well. 1st, for some reason for about 2-3 sentences, the writing would jump to 3rd person, and then back to 1st person not often, but a few times. 2nd, the ending was rushed. It felt like Grace did all this lying, and covering, to hide the fact that there was a child, and then when Jamie did find out it was all ok, we're good, the end.

I really enjoyed this read. I thought the characters were well-developed and flawed just like the rest of us. But I have a couple of problems with the story that kept it from being a five-star review and not near as believable as it could have been.It is a good lesson to demonstrate the importance of truthfulness in any relationship.I would recommend this book and I will look for more of this author's work.

The book was interesting, it was my first "secret baby" book, and of that I'm not sure I would seek out more, but I am a fan on long lost lovers reunited. So on that front, it was good, if not a bit far fetched. I felt Grace was a worst case scenario kind of gal, on all fronts of her life, and I tend to favor a bit of confidence. The ending was well done, but other reviewers are right, it was lacking in dialogue.

Loved it! Would've loved an epilogue but loved it all the same. LOVED the fact it was a standalone book, without all the unnecessary angst and unbelievable unnecessary drama AND no cliffhanger!!!!!!!!!! Loved the characters and the authors writing. Will def be on the look out for more from this author!!!

Considering that this is the second time that i read this book, and i didn't love it the first time, it doesn't get much better the second. I was not such a huge fan of Grace, she had this tendency of running away from her problems. Wasn't a huge fan of her sister either throughout the book. I also thought the end was just to convenient and wrapped up to pretty. But still an ok read.

This book was ok..the cover doesn't match the story..almost a "hallmark or lifetime" feel to it..he was constantly chasing her..while she was always running the other the point where it was almost ridiculous..then he doesn't find out "the secret" till the end of the book and its all forgiven quickly and wrapped up tight..a little silly..but not a horrible read..just ok

I really enjoyed this book. The story was interesting but sometimes predictable. I have to agree that hiding that you're pregnant is a little shady, but it did make for an interesting plot. I loved how she explained the emotions that the characters went through. She explained love and heartbreak perfectly. It was a great story and I really enjoyed it.

This book was a free read. I really enjoyed it. I had to laugh out loud when Jaime said, "She took the blocks?". I am always one who reads to get the happy ending the characters deserve, definitely recommend.

Both of the main characters were beyond insufferable. He's methods to get her attention were borderline stalkerish and her methods to keep a secret from him was childish. When the big reveal finally happened, it was anti-climatic and sappy.

Decent book. It felt like it was missing something; I never quite connected with the Jamie or Grace. I liked the plot, but again, it felt like it was missing something. This was a quick, easy read. I will read other books by this author

I think I went through all the emotions you can think of.. but keeping Jake from Jamie was seriously the most stupid thing I could not stand from Grace..Love really is truly blind..but I enjoyed going through the emotions.
