Dam this was good! The author executed this hot little story with precision and style. Once started, I couldn't put it down. Due to length (it's not that long) anything I say about the storyline, would be classed as a spoiler and impair the enjoyment of reading this delicious sci-fi story. However, I have to say that the "twist" in the story was brilliant - didn't see that one coming and it was very, very clever! The descriptive use of words made the reading such a pleasure and I understood everything that was going on, with ease, so even if sci-fi is not your thing, please don't be put off by that label - it's a super hot love story, showing that "love can conquer all"!

Creed comes from a future that I want no part of. The government has figured out a way to efficiently lower crime rate and a proficient way to control population numbers. The government has even created a group of enforcers to make sure that individuals take the prescribed meds. Creed is one of these enforcers. His latest target has jumped through time in an effort to evade him. Creed is the best at chasing the rebels that refuse to abide by the rules that make the future so controlled. Shayla is shocked to find two men arguing in her front yard. She is even more terrified when one attacks her, leaving the other bleeding on her front porch. What she doesn’t know is that the one who attacked her has not really injured the other, but served him with a dose of reality. The implant that keeps the population of the future so controlled has been rendered useless in Creed and he is now trapped in a time where he cannot acquire more.I loved the fact that Creed had his eyes opened that his time is not as perfect as he assumed. He is stuck in a past that is very different from his time. Shayla tries to help the stranded stranger even though she is convinced that he is crazy. Their time together makes him share more and more details of who he is and how he has lived. This gets Shayla’s curiosity piqued and she can’t help herself when it comes to assisting this sexy stranded stranger with the new desires that he is experiencing. Passion Awakened is a great book, with minimal sci fi/futuristic components. Creed has traveled into the past to catch a fugitive. His past is (Shayla’s) our present day. The book is set in 2012. So if you ever thought you may want to give time travel books a try but didn’t want to read a book set in the future or the past this would be a perfect starting point. The futuristic aspect will not lose any reader with too much technical jargon.

Review posted:***Jessica Lee’s future, in ‘Passion Awakened’ involves the repression of sexuality. Citizens take drugs to moderate their urges and eradicate sexual interaction, all to cut back on crime and violence. It was probably one of the most original science fiction based erotica I’ve ever read. She literally dished out a read that that was comfortable and normal, but also turned it around and shook it up a lot. I was hooked in the first few pages.

This was a great Sci fi love story. It had a different kind of twist on it and was smoking hot! When 2 completely different world's collide, in an amazing twist of fate, can Creed keep the humanity he has always known or will Shayla make him question it all?Jessica Lee has spun us this amazing tale of time travel, intrigue, and inter dimension relations that are so foreign and yet at some level do they make sense???I guess you will have to read and see! Follow Creed on his journey of self awareness with help from Shayla of course! Another 5 star read from this amazing author!

I've never read any of Jessica Lee’s other books, but after delving into Passion Awakened, I'm pretty sure that she's my new book crack dealer. She manages to pack a lot of plot in very few pages –enough that I was disappointed when I'd reached the end. The premise was an exciting take on the dystopian society – one that uses mandatory drugs to control the populace. While crime and violence are virtually non existent, the trade off is that you're left with zero libido. Future generations are ensured through a well thought out, deliberate breeding program. No passion, no lust, no love. I found it more than a little sad, but it truly added a unique flavor to the story. We meet Creed Donovan as he's jumped into the distant past, in hot pursuit of a rebel who refused the hormonal suppressant. He's a by the book type of enforcer who always gets his man, and he's determined that one un medicated scientist won't get the best of him. When they struggle, the pump that continuously supplies the emotionally numbing Sustain to his system is damaged, and the rebel escapes with Creed’s time travel device. In short, he's up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Shayla was just the innocent bystander in the wrong place at the wrong time. She could have easily played the damsel in distress card, but she didn't. I found her funny, smart, strong, resourceful, and compassionate. She was the total package and I loved how she met each challenge head on, even knowing how temporary her time with Creed would be. Shayla faced so much uncertainty; a stranger undergoing forced detox, her own insecurities, her attraction to a man that may very well be mentally unbalanced. If she'd done a one eighty from the situation and run as fast as her feet could take her, I wouldn't have blamed her one bit. The fact that she stuck to her guns and committed herself to seeing things through clinched the deal for me.This novella had all of my favorite elements – emotion, well written sex scenes, an exciting plot filled with twists and turns, and two beautifully crafted characters. Passion Awakened might be a quick read, but it will stay with you long after its finished.Five shooting Stars and Shining Star award
