1.5 StarsA quick mob story that I fell prey to. I should have known it wouldn't all end in 13 short chapters. That would be too good. Sadly, it ended up on a 'to be-continued -note'. If your invested enough to see what happens with the impending war and the heroine's crazy dad and ex-fiance, you will make yourself go to the next book. Whenever that comes out- one cannot say as I don't see anything in regards to the second story. This story... sigh. I wanted to love it but I struggled with: 1. the shortness of the story.2. the quickness of their feelings when they've barely known each other for an actual week ?? 3. too many time jumps so you don't see much of their interactions during the two weeks of them having met and the one week they actually stay in the same place. 4. everyone seems bi-polar. One minute you think you know their personalities and the next they become the opposite. It's like Jeckyll and Hyde. One minute the heroine is- sweet, nice, maybe a little shy. The next she's "I'm princess mafia royalty, here me roar." - she lets this attitude out a few times.5. the heroines clear stupidity when she doesn't know who Ruslan is, though he says his name and clearly has a Russian accent. CLEARLY this is a coincidence, one that she should have cotton onto that this could be the man she was seeking? Umm hello! You had his business card, too! Why use the library to online search him?6. his thoughts of constantly being that he needed her body under him. Though, this never happens fully in this story. SHOCKER, and one I'm fine with. 7.that I have to read book two to find out what happens next or simply put, to get a resolution of the whole story in general. Hopefully it resolves in book two.... who knows maybe there's going to be a third? 8. the entire story was written in past tense. Nothing was written like it was happening in the moment. Really, it was the writing that threw me off.

Had potential but felt too rushed for me 2.5 to 3 stars.I read this by mistake, I know what you're thinking how exactly did I read it by mistake?I've been trying to find a really good Russian Mafia book I downloaded loads the other day and I've been steadily working my way through them, I read one the other day 'My Russian Hero' and while it had potential it was stilted and felt very rushed. I didn't check any reviews or even the author before starting this and while reading my main thought was it felt too rushed it wasn't until I'd finished and I came to write my review that I realised it was by the same author. It says book 1 and it's a cliffhanger, I won't be continuing on since while it had potential it felt more like a race and was way too rushed for me.

This was a good short book that ends on a cliffhanger. I will read the next one just to find out what happens.

I really enjoyed this book until 65% into the story and then it changed direction swiftly. The heroine previously depicted as a controlled sweet young women with a daring personality became the opposite at this juncture. The telling became rushed and the author decided the heroine could speak up for herself with colourful language and authority. What??? The pace of the story was so quick from this point onwards with the final page being an anticlimax that left me annoyed.........

I wanted to like this book and I think it had some potential but my complaint is the same as others, way too short, they "fell in love" way too fast and I found the female lead was unstable. Was she scared, was she strong, I don't know?!?!?!?!

This is a quick easy read. No angst or depth to the story. No sex either. Everything felt rushed. And it goes into a 2nd book. Not interested enough for that.

I liked the story line and plot. Decent read but not enough actual dialog between characters or events. Way to much inner dialog/ thoughts!!!!

FML. It's a serial pretty much. I didn't know that when I started it otherwise I would've waited. Waaaaaah. What little I got was a good beginning. Just ... Fucking short as hell. Ugh.
