Pretty good. Much like the first in the set, not a particularly smashing story but the dialogue and integration of Tennant and Tate are fantastic. Much like the televised New Series, it's more witty banter and action than plot. I'll give it a decent mark for originality too even though the squiddy guy is suspiciously 'Pirate of the Caribbean'. It's a great deal of fun but I could do with some more story.

While I don't think a lot of the story is sticking in my head (this happens occasionally when I listen and drive), there was definitely good stuff here. I mean, beyond just a new Donna-Doctor story starring Tate and Tennant. What struck me most was how well this adventure highlighted Donna's compassion. It's not something you think about as much with her, not compared to her yelling at the world and being witty and everything, but Donna has always proven herself to be deeply compassionate. I like how much this story showcased that.I suspect that three new Donna-Doctor stories aren't gonna be enough for me.

Not bad. Not my favorite. This one did not ring as true to the tenth doctor as the other audio's in this series and that bothered me a bit, but still worth listening to.

So I'm wondering, is this the first time we've ever had Donna written by a woman writer? Jenny did a wonderful job! This was a full on science fiction epic, with bizarre aliens, and alien races on the brink of destruction and a massive space station. A story that worked very well on audio because it had such a big scale and no need to worry about the CGI budget. (Though I am still sad we didn't actually get to see Catherine Tate in the wenches outfit!) There was also a lot of fun banter, and a lot of fantastic lines for Donna! Some sad and kinda terrifying moments too. Brilliant all round!

Hah! This was fun to listen to. It's great to hear David Tennant as the 10th Doctor along with Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, together again! So great!Spoilers:Lets see... So something needs to be repaired on the Tardis, so the Doctor takes them to a sketchy planet he's fond of that's basically a giant space terminal, but with a lot of criminal element. Once there, they get involved with an outbreak of Time Reavers (!), which are weapons used to force people to live in a sped up life, caught experiencing a few seconds as weeks, months or years, and they can kill or be used to prolong torture. They're wildly illegal, and the Doctor must put a stop to this! Well, it turns out this one girl brought some from her homeworld, and she's being tortured by space octopus pirates in order to get her to give them more. The Doctor teams up with the police, and frees her! But, then she escapes, followed by Donna, and both are lost. The Doctor confronts the police chief, and down below in the tunnels, Donna confronts the girl, and together we find out what's going on!-The girl is the chief's daughter. -They're both members of an alien race, a race that recently took over this planet, but come from another planet. -Their planet is dying, somehow their sun is getting bigger in the sky and they'll die soon. Their race does everything together, and they can't all evacuate, so they're all planning on returning to the planet so they can all go out together.-Everyone on the planet really likes watching their sunsets, so the chief is actually a scientist who invented a device to stretch out time for people to enjoy the sunsets longer, but in doing so, inadvertently reinvented Time Reavers.-When the chief figured out what he'd really made, he stopped the research program. However, his naive daughter stole the ones already made and went to this planet to sell them to people so they could have fun longer. She was immediately captured by pirates and shown first hand what bad guys used them for!So, after that point the Doctor and the chief catch up with Donna and the girl. However, the pirates catch up with them too, and the chief is killed, but also Time Reaved, so he's torture killed! Donna convinces the girl to tell them where to find her hidden stash of Time Reavers, so the Doctor uses the rest of them all... on himself! Just as he's finishing up experiencing 7 centuries of alone time in his head, the pirate tries to escape the planet, but the girl catches him! After a fight, it turns out she had one left, and she Time Reaves the pirate with it, and he burns alive for months of subjective time as his ship explodes in slow motion!Afterwards, everyone goes home, and the Doctor decides what he really missed during his 7 century time out was a good book, so they decide to go to a library! ***********************The good: Tennant and Tate! Just, everything to do with that pairing.Donna's speech to the girl after her dad died. "You know what my father told me when he passed away? Whatever you do... make sure you tell everyone where you hid your stash of alien weapons..." Heh, something like that. So awesome! The Not As Good:It was weird that the devices, meant for non nefarious purposes, were in the shape of guns anyway. No one gets in trouble for all the deaths? That girl definitely murdered that space octopus pirate...There are people all over the place being Time Reaved while doing drugs... how? There was only one, it had just arrived, and the rest were hidden. How were they using these if they can only be used for one shot? Why did the Doctor shoot himself with these things, instead of aiming them at the wall or something? All in all, super fun to listen to!

This was fun but largely the entertainment is in hearing David Tennant reprise his role as the 10th Doctor along with Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. The plot is simple and not many surprises. The concept of a device which can prolong your own personal experience of one moment in time was interesting. The voices of the other characters though and background noises were much louder at times than the main voices; to the detriment of the overall production.

A pretty hard-to-follow story, but I bumped it up to 3 stars because of that sly reference to Donna's having something on her back, as well as this exchange:"I think I have the air of a space buccaneer""You have the air of a primary school teacher.... On non-uniform day" 😂😂😂

The Doctor and Donna Noble together again. What else can you ask for? A little short for my taste but David T. and his companion are a great team and it is well worth the listen. A note, better to by at instead of Amazon. The story feats the Doctor Who universe.

Very much felt like a fast and real Doctor Donna episode! The humor was fantastic and the heart-tugging moments were brilliant.

It was just okay for me because I didn't like the main OC, the spoiled brat of a kid. Daddy didn't pay enough attention to her so she stole his invention and almost destroyed the universe, getting him killed in the process? Christ on a cracker! But Donna and the Doctor were cool.

In typical BBC audiobook fashion, this DW story is a full cast with sound effects and music to bring the story to life. Best of all, though, Catherine Tate and David Tennant perfectly reprise their roles, like no time has passed at all. The story is typical of a single Doctor-Donna episode. The Time Reaver is the second in a trilogy, however, they do not have to read in order. There are good twists and a handful of Easter Egg references to the DW Canon.

A fun and lively adventure that takes part on the sort of alien world that you suspect would have been beyond the resources of the television show. This story nails the two main characters perfectly and gives them some truly memorable moments including what may be my favorite Donna line ever (talking about her father). The planet of the boys stuff is pretty hilarious too.

Quite a nice story there, perhaps less entertaining than the previous one, but it's still enjoyable to follow Ten and Donna in their adventures, especially as the both of them are such an interesting and complementary duo!

Probably not as good as the first story in this series, this is still really good. Music is both intrusive and good at points and I loved the idea of the torture of being frozen in one moment for what might feel like forever.

While the first episode followed the televison's aura, this episode was a giant leap from those vibe. The setting, the characters, and the story and plot were so heavy and more action-packed than a typical DW story. For me, this is one of the best stories Big Finish ever produced.

Not so fun like the first story, but I loved how much Donna was portrayed as the sweet and kind woman she is. There is a lot more drama here and the plot itself was nice even though I got lost in the middle sometimes.

I didn't like the story as much as the first 10th Doctor story and I found one of the side characters, Cora, very annoying, but the Doctor Donna banter was as wonderful as ever. And I loved that Donna's compassionate side was pretty much the star of the episode. All in all an entertaining hour.

I liked this one. I particularly liked the notion of the Doctor having to scrounge for parts to keep the ol' Type 40 running . . .

The idea of the Time Reaver weapon was pretty cool, but the rest was just kind of meh for me. Stayed in character for the Whoniverse, but nothing exceptional. Enjoyed the audiobook.
